Dr Álvaro Sebastián González Rojas is Director of the Centro de Investigación e Innovación at Viña Concha y Toro, Chile. He holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a degree in Oenology from Université Bordeaux 2, France.
His scientific expertise includes grapevine and berry physiology, phenolic compounds and secondary metabolites, as well as grape processing, extraction and winemaking. His research has also explored innovative technologies for the analysis and optimisation of grape and wine quality.
As head of Viña Concha y Toro’s research and innovation centre, he works at the interface between scientific research and the wine industry, contributing to the development of innovative approaches to address current challenges in viticulture and oenology.
