Dr Hannah Robinson is a geneticist at the Department of Plant Breeding at Hochschule Geisenheim University, Germany, where she conducts research on the genetic improvement of grapevine and other perennial crops. She holds a PhD in cereal crop genetics from the University of Queensland, Australia, and previously worked in plant breeding at InterGrain, one of Australia’s leading cereal breeding companies. She is also an Honorary Professor at the University of Queensland.

Her research focuses on quantitative genetics, genomic and predictive breeding, and the integration of genomic, phenotypic and epigenetic data. Her recent work investigates intra-varietal diversity and clonal evolution in grapevine, with the aim of better understanding and harnessing genetic and epigenetic variation to develop grapevine varieties and clones adapted to future climatic conditions. In 2025, she was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship by the European Union.
