"ISVV Bordeaux Aquitaine is a center of excellence renowned in France and abroad for the quality of its training programs adapted to the entire range of vine & wine professions"
In 2014, restructuring at the University of Bordeaux led to the reorganization of training and research components and the merging of the Faculty of Oenology's activities with those of the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin (ISVV – Institute of Vine & Wine Science). This Institute is now responsible for managing and coordinating all academic training programs in the Vine & Wine sector.
To meet the needs of this industry, the ISVV runs a wide range of technical programs from Bachelor degree level (3 years of post-secondary education) to Master's degree level (5 years of post-secondary education).
Training is a cornerstone of the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin, which offers a comprehensive range of Vine & Wine programs.
At the University of Bordeaux and in collaboration with its partners (Michel Montaigne University, Bordeaux Sciences Agro and Kedge), the ISVV brings together a community of more than 80 teaching staff, covering topics from Plant Biology to Vine & Wine Law, including Oenology and the Marketing of Wine & Spirits. The programs delivered benefit from the very high-level research carried out by the ISVV's staff, and from their knowledge transfers.
Professors and students enjoy access to outstanding technical facilities: cutting-edge analytical equipment, wineries, tasting rooms, etc., and can consult the documentary resources and digital databases in the ISSV's own library.
