Research at Kedge Business School conforms to a shared vision of an education sector that is becoming increasingly open. The production and dissemination of knowledge are breaking free from the constraints of time and space, and the digital revolution is improving access to education and research.
At the same time, the key research-related issues now revolve around the ability of institutions to demonstrate that their production leads to the creation of value. This value must be perceived by the stakeholders. Students are noticing the differentiation of course content offered by different institutions; enterprises are assessing professors' contributions in their quest to improve performance; public authorities are improving their operations by adopting new approaches to management, and the academic world is benefiting from new contributions to the advancement of science.
In this demanding, connected and composite context, Kedge Business School's response is encapsulated by the following motto: "excellence in diversity". Research policy must optimize the expression of all talents so all professors and employees can perform to the best of their abilities. The contributions are created and disseminated in an open world offering new opportunities for their development and exploitation.
Wine & Hospitality Management
Research focuses mainly on the following aspects: wine marketing and economics; financial dimensions of the wine sector and the wine & spirits supply chain (cognacs, armagnacs, sakés and other products, comparison of distribution chains); wine e-commerce, and the social dimensions of wine (wine and tourism, wine and the emotions, wine and sustainable development, key issues for natural wines). Theoretical and applied research is developing at the market level (supply and demand, competition, asymmetry of information, quality), at the industry and/or sector-level (organization, level of concentration, marketing channels, investors, etc.) and at the corporate level (marketing, organization, consumer behavior, speculation, etc.).
The team collaborates actively with numerous firms, participates in several research networks in Aquitaine and France, and works on national and international invitations to tender.
The agreement with the University of Bordeaux, ENITAB, Kedge BS and the Institut des Sciences de la Vigne et du Vin (ISVV) Bordeaux-Aquitaine, is allowing for the development of high-level research in these fields.
